THE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE
LPG storage is a high-consequence engineering application where vessel integrity, fire exposure, pressure containment, emergency isolation and safe access must work together as one integrated system.
The mounded bullet concept adds another layer of engineering complexity—requiring careful integration of the pressure vessel, mound system, piping, drainage, instrumentation, fire protection, access and emergency systems.
ENGINEERED FOR SAFETY
Passive Protection
The earth mound provides an additional passive barrier against external fire exposure and thermal radiation.
Risk Mitigation
The facility is engineered around the hazards associated with pressurized LPG storage, release, ignition and emergency scenarios.
Integrated Safety
Process isolation, instrumentation, emergency shutdown, fire protection and gas detection are considered as an integrated safety system.
Future-Ready Infrastructure
The design approach supports long-term asset integrity, maintainability, operational reliability and regulatory compliance.
FROM CONCEPT TO DETAILED ENGINEERING
01 — BASIC ENGINEERING
Establishing the engineering basis, design philosophy, process requirements and overall facility configuration.
02 — FEED
Developing the engineering definition required to establish a coordinated, safe and constructible project.
03 — DETAILED ENGINEERING
Translating the approved engineering basis into coordinated multidisciplinary deliverables ready to support procurement and execution.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY ENGINEERING
Process • Mechanical • Piping • Civil & Structural • Electrical • Instrumentation • Safety
All disciplines were developed as an integrated engineering system, ensuring that process requirements, equipment, piping, structures, utilities and safety systems worked together within the overall facility design.
WHY MOUNDED LPG BULLETS?
Safety by Design
Mounded storage provides a passive layer of protection around the LPG vessel and can reduce exposure to external fire and thermal radiation.
Optimized Land Utilization
The configuration can provide opportunities for more efficient use of available industrial land while maintaining the required safety philosophy.
Reduced Consequence Potential
By protecting the vessel from direct external exposure, mounded storage contributes to mitigation of severe fire scenarios and BLEVE risk.
Operational Reliability
When properly engineered, the system integrates storage, transfer, isolation, instrumentation, drainage and emergency systems into a robust operating facility.
TAKVIKSH ENGINEERING CAPABILITY
One Project. Multiple Engineering Disciplines. One Integrated Solution.
The project demonstrates TakViksh’s capability to undertake complex hydrocarbon storage engineering from Basic Engineering and FEED through Detailed Engineering, with multidisciplinary coordination and a strong focus on process safety and practical execution.
